Zirka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble Senior Group

is privileged to have a strong talented senior group of dancers that range in age from 14-18+. They are a dedicated and committed group of individuals that come together usually twice a week to work on Ukrainian dance skill development, ballet bar work, endurance and stamina.

Their dance repertoire includes a welcoming Pryvit, energetic hopak and other regions of Ukraine and contemporary dance as well.

Since Zirka’s inception in 1972, our senior dancers have had the opportunity to dazzle crowds in Canada from coast to coast, several tours in the U.S. and even Ukraine. Zirka is honoured to share our love of dance with local crowds at Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival hosted by our home town of Dauphin.

Senior dancers work hard on and off the dancer floor with extra fundraising to help establish funds for future tour possibilities. Activities include numerous performance honorariums, Ukrainian Christmas Carolling, pyrohy sales, and annual car wash and May bottle drive.

Zirka Senior Ensemble went down South to Disney World on their 2024 Dance Tour, with Dance the World.

Starting in early January the senior ensemble started to get ready for their tour to Disney World. Dance the World sent music and a parade dance for the dancers to learn before they would show up to Orlando Florida. With learning the parade dance the ensemble also learned a brand new Pryvit (Welcome Dance) to show case their talents at the world stage at the EPCOT theme park in Florida. Travel History

The Travel group had a successful southern California tour July 14 - 19, 2017! Unfortunately I cannot load photos onto this site, but great times were had by all. A quality workshop on Saturday, with a stage performance following each day Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Our group performed in each of the Disney resort Theme parks, as well as CitiWalk at Universal Studios California. A great mix of work and play, with lots of team bonding. ...
